What's available

Four ways to work with Andrew

Heart's Journey Home offers individual counselling, online counselling, faith coaching and a faith-based process group. Every fee below is the published rate, and every first conversation is free.

Heart's Journey Home is a counselling and psychotherapy practice run by Andrew Ormiston, a counsellor registered with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and the Christian Counsellors Association of Australia (CCAA). The practice provides in-person and online counselling for adults, alongside faith coaching, from rooms in Chatswood, Blacktown and Morisset in New South Wales.

In-Person Counselling and Psychotherapy

$140

A 50 to 60 minute session in person at Chatswood, Blacktown or Morisset. Trauma-informed counselling for adults working through trauma, anxiety and major life questions.

Online Counselling

$140

A one hour session by secure video or phone, for people who would rather not travel or who live outside the three room locations. Not intended for crisis situations.

Faith Coaching and Mentoring

$100

A one hour session, in person or online, focused on spiritual formation. Andrew keeps this deliberately separate from clinical counselling rather than blending the two.

Journey Fellowship

A faith-based process group that combines therapeutic structure with spiritual practice, for people who would rather not do this work alone.

The person you'd be talking to

Andrew Ormiston, counsellor and psychotherapist

  • Registered with PACFA
  • Registered with CCAA
  • Close to two decades of practice

Andrew Ormiston is registered with both the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia and the Christian Counsellors Association of Australia. That pairing is the reason most people come to Heart's Journey Home: clinical training and faith taken equally seriously, in the same room, by the same person.

In his own words, "For close to two decades I've walked alongside people as they wrestle with the deeper questions of life."

Andrew draws a clear line between counselling and faith coaching, and says so up front. Counselling is clinical work. Faith coaching is spiritual formation. You choose which one you are booking, and he will tell you if he thinks you have picked the wrong one.

A hard path is made easier with someone who knows the way.

How the first conversation works

Nobody commits to a course of counselling from a website. The first step costs nothing and takes twenty minutes.

  2. 02

    You decide, not him

If it is a fit, you book a session. If it is not, Andrew will say so. There is no follow-up sequence and nothing to unsubscribe from.

Questions people ask before they call

How much does counselling cost at Heart’s Journey Home?

A counselling session is $140, whether it is in person (50 to 60 minutes) or online (one hour). Faith coaching and mentoring is $100 for one hour. The initial 20-minute conversation is free.

Do I need a referral to book?

No. You can book the free 20-minute conversation directly with Andrew, by phone on 0450 395 790 or by email.

What is the difference between counselling and faith coaching?

Counselling and psychotherapy is clinical work. Faith coaching and mentoring is spiritual formation, and Andrew states plainly that it sits outside the scope of formal counselling. They are booked separately and priced differently, and he will help you work out which one you are actually after.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes. Online counselling runs for one hour by secure video or phone, at the same $140 fee as an in-person session. It is not intended for crisis situations.

Where are the rooms?

Chatswood (Suite 2/104 Victoria Ave), Blacktown (24 Main St) and Morisset (143 Dora St), all in New South Wales. Online sessions are available if none of those are close enough.

What if I need urgent help right now?

Heart’s Journey Home is not a crisis service, and online counselling is not intended for crisis situations. If you need help immediately, call Lifeline on 13 11 14, or 000 in an emergency.
